Well the week has started off the same as it has been for all these months. Head is pounding and fluffy, legs are throbbing and feeling sick. Starting to get used to it now so when people ask "how are you" I find myself saying "I'm ok" when really I'm not.
On the plus side today the scaffolding was finished being put up, so lets hope it wont be too long now before my roof is finally repaired and I will have no more leaks. I realise that as I haven't put any of the on going saga on my blog no one will have a clue what I'm talking about. Put simply, my roof started leaking last Feb, yes that's right, February 2007 and after a so called repair in December and continued leaks, it is finally being looked at. I'm sure I will cover the many problems found with my landlords.
Spent most of today setting my laptop up after starting it from scratch last night after getting fed up with its slow operation. Considering its only 1month old I was shocked how quick it slowed down after some installing and un-installing. Its a lovely laptop my girlfriend helped me buy as my PC monitor has died, well not completely, but enough to make it imposable for me to any design work on. This laptop is proving to be a life saver.
While I am signed off work I have been using some of the time to learn new software. I have already learnt a lot about web design using CSS and hope to further my skills in web design to a level that may help me with finding work. I have also been looking at 3D animation software, in particular Maya and 3DS Max. I had some previous knowledge of Max and am finding there are many similarities between the packages. So keep an eye out for my updated website where I will be using my new found skills.

I forgot I had a blog!
I was thinking to myself the other day "its about time I got myself a blog". After a brief amount of research I came across this site, blogger.com. It then struck me, I had a vague recollection of setting up a blog and sure enough, I entered my details and up it came.
What can I say, it has been over a year since my first entry, not acceptable in my book, so will be trying to keep things a bit more up to date.
I am still working the the same printers I was last year when I started my blog, but have been off work since November 2007. Unfortunately I developed 'Shingles' which has knocked me for six and left me unable to work. Its not until you are in a situation like this that you start to appreciate being well and able to do all the things you want to do. Another thing that has come up through being ill is how hard it is to survive. I have been a hard working young single person, who finally managed to get himself a flat, a reasonably well paid job and now I am in a time of need, not much is there to help me. Currently I receive SSP (Statory Sick Pay) which the government considers far to much money to be entitled to any income support, so therefore I can not claim FREE prescriptions, so I have to scrounge to find the money each month I am signed off, however if I was unemployed due to any other reason (laziness for example) I would receive income support and therefore get free medication, Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, now does that make sense? Fortunately I have been sensible and took out protection on my Mortgage and my Loan, but this is only covered for a year, after that, IF I am ill long term its sell up and move home to the parents, but why should I after working so hard to get where I am?!
Ok, I think I will leave it at that for now, lots more to catch up on and PLENTY more to rant about believe you me.

Day 1
My first entry for my blog.
I am hoping that this will open up some new doors for me, letting me meet new people, make contacts, get advice etc.
Today is my 32nd Birthday and I am hoping that over the course of the next year I can make some big changes in my life. The main one is to move into freelance design work and to gain some web design skills to broaden my scope.
